June Book List

  1. Nuklear Age - Brian Clevinger
  2. Jude the Obscure - Thomas Hardy
  3. Charming Billy - Alice McDermott
  4. Wild Animus - Rich Shapero
  5. The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Conan Doyle
  6. Mummy - Caroline B. Cooney
  7. The Heir Hunter - Chris Larsgaard
  8. The White Dragon - Anne McCaffrey
  9. Death In A Tenured Posture - Amanda Cross
  10. War of the Worlds - H.G. Wells

Every month, a list of ten books will be posted in the list. Requests should be made for the next list as comments to the previous month's list. For example, you would post requests for the July Book List as a comment for this entry. Got it? I try to make the lists well rounded. It is not required that you read every book. In fact, they are just suggestions. I will post the summary from the cover of the book, along with some links to reviews, for the books that I do read. It will then be your job to post your comments on that book if you've read it.

Invite a ton of people to join in the fun! I appreciate it!

Check out this website! I know you all will thoroughly enjoy this.

The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster

Untitled Poem by Cristina Morris

I'm not so sure.
I don't know what to say.
every feeling I once had
is tortured enough to die.
They look at you and see a boy
who always has his head to the skies.
I see a man
tortured inside,
unwielding to give me a chance.
Still his eyes sing to
an unwielded soul,
the one inside of his heart.
Mind as flustered from letting her go,
still my heart cries for his pain.
So unyielding, this pit in my soul.
every moment without you makes me cold.
I feel you
when you are not here,
and I am alone.
Alone with only my thoughts to hide me.
I sit behind my mask,
a mask painted with a smile.
My smile is wrinkled
from holding position so long.
I can barely change my demeanor,
my outward appearance.
Everything they see
is a facade.

"Emotions" by Cristina Morris

I'm quiet sitting here
starving for warmth.
Thinking of your smile
sends shivers through my heart.
I shine inside my soul
just to know you're here with me.
And just expression on your face
harbors all the grace you own!
Listening to the steady heartbeats
here inside of my chest,
matches with the vibrancy of yours.
Moving together, almost as if motionless
always stunned by the romance of it all.
Tranquil dawn approaching me,
feeling for the ice around my heart.
Depth and breadth of the ocean
deep inside your eyes.
Gaze stuck inside my mind...
Shining stars,
slowly disappearing, line the skies.
Open up these armslet me in!
Forever in existence lying
as if we're never going to change.
I still don't even know your name!
Your lips I can taste,
sweet honey on my skin...
Pressed against eachother once again,
feeling you next to me:
I never want to let go
now that we've found love.

Poetry and Essays

I'm going to give the opportunity for all of you to put your poetry and essays up here! People will be able to comment on your work and give you a public opinion on your work! This will give you the opportunity to grow as a writer. Maybe one day, the book club might be posting your book or anthology on the list! Just e-mail me the poem with your name and background info behind the poem. You may choose to remain anonymous, as well.

If anyone has ideas for a themed book list, just let me know! We can even do a few months of authors. That would be one author and the books that they have written in one month. Fun, yes? Just let me know about some of your favorite books or favorite authors, and I'll see about researching books for the list!
